JOB OVERVIEW
Following recent investment and enhancements to our event spaces, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven event sales and business development executive from within the hospitality industry. Event sales at Hurley House is our priority for growth. This role will be critical to drive revenue and events sales at Hurley House Hotel working 48 hours/5 days, Monday – Friday. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, possess strong sales acumen, and have a proven track record in the MICE market, selling and executing high-end events.
Ideally, the candidate must live within a 30-minute drive of our venue.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Business Development
- Attend key industry and networking events to showcase and exhibit Hurley House to our target market.
- Research, identify, qualify and establish NEW business sales contacts with direct corporate accounts, local community partners, event planners and agencies.
- Using your understanding of the MICE and competitor landscape, take the lead in creating a strategy and action plan for each key market segment, to drive sales of both private and corporate events.
- Proactively generate leads and support the conversion of enquiries into confirmed event bookings, achieving revenue targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with current corporate clients, wedding planners, event venue finding and planning agencies and local businesses to drive event sales.
- In coordination with the Events team, conduct site visits and presentations to showcase the hotel’s event facilities.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to develop promotional strategies, packages, and seasonal offers.
- Maintain exceptional customer service and ensure all guest expectations are exceeded.
Administrative and Financial Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on event sales performance, identifying areas for growth.
- Maintain accurate records of all bookings, contracts, and sales correspondence in the hotel’s CRM system – Events 500.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely invoicing and payments.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in event sales and coordination within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel or venue.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving revenue targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the local market and industry trends is a plus.
Please be aware that whilst only a short distance from Maidenhead, Marlow and Henley, the hotel is located in a rural location; therefore, having your own transportation arrangement is essential.
