Hurley House is Reopening

We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming guests back to our house very soon.

Our house has been beautifully prepared for the reopening. Our comprehensive safeguarding measures make for a slightly different experience, but you can still expect the same relaxed atmosphere and outstanding service.

Friday 17th July – our hotel accommodation will be reopened

The hotel will reopen on a Bed & Breakfast basis only, 6 days a week. Closed Sundays unless it’s a continuation of an existing stay. All other services will remain closed in July except our Japanese takeaway service.

DETAILS

• A limited number of rooms will be available, giving our housekeeping team extra time to focus more on our already stringent hygiene practices

• Guests can enjoy a continental breakfast in their rooms

• Check-in and check-out procedures will be streamlined, minimising contact with our team members

• Hotel guests will be able to order from our Japanese menu, which can be consumed in their room or on the premises (including the terraces) in disposable containers.This service is available Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays on pre-order only

• A selection of beverages included in our takeaway menu will be available for consumption on the premises

Saturday 1st August – limited reopening of public areas

We will initially only open for pre-booked dining 6 days a week, Tuesday to Sunday: our Restaurant, Bar and Terraces will be closed for walk-in guests until further notice.

DETAILS

• Seating shall be in individual zones, inside the house and on our terraces, for safety and additional privacy

• As dining space is limited, we require a minimum size party of 4 guests. Alternatively, a minimum spend per table will apply

• Tables to be booked a minimum of 7 days in advance

• Only our Japanese menu will be available and advance ordering will be possible

• A limited range of international dishes can be provided for parties of 8 or more. Menu to be agreed 7 days in advance

• The Bar (drinks only service) will remain closed until further notice

TAKEAWAY FOOD AND DRINKS

Our popular offering will continue to be available 6 days a week, Tuesday to Sunday, 12:00-19:30. We now offer a delivery service, within a 9-mile radius of our property. Hotel guests are welcome to place orders, Tuesday to Sunday (Mondays on pre-order) – to be consumed in their rooms or in the public areas (social distancing measures will apply).

WEDDINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Bookings can be accepted, for events from November 2020 onwards. This will of course be subject to government guidelines at the time. Hurley House Hotel is one of the most elegant event venues in Berkshire. Perfectly located within arm’s reach of Maidenhead, Marlow and Henley, surrounded by acres of countryside. It is ideal for any celebration, including Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Baby showers, Summer parties, Corporate events & many more.

HURLEY HOUSE VIPs

We are grateful to our VIP patrons, who have been extremely loyal and supportive during these terrible times. Therefore, we have decided to extend their usual discount to groups of up to 6 guests for lunch & dinner, Tuesday to Sunday.

OTHER INFORMATION

We have always been highly rated for our cleanliness and attention to detail, but we will be working even harder implementing specific COVID-19 related hygiene measures. The look and feel of our house will not be too different from before we closed.

Our main focus is to make sure you feel welcome and at ease, and to achieve this, we have adopted the following measures:

GENERAL

• Our team will be adhering to government guidance on social distancing, so please don’t be alarmed if they don’t offer their usual handshake

• We have reduced our team size, and will review this on an ongoing basis

• Guests entering and exiting the main house will be guided to use separate doors to keep the contact with other guests to a minimum

• We discourage the use of cash payments when possible. Our card terminals will be sanitised before use and bills can be emailed if requested

• We will be using state-of-the-art thermal detection camera for unobtrusive temperature monitoring of guests & staff on arrival. Should your temperature be 38 degrees or above, you will be politely asked not to enter and to leave the property

• Newly installed sanitiser stations will be available around the hotel for guests and team members to use

• We have removed our linen hand towels in the public toilets and replaced them with disposable ones

• To help with ventilation, we will prop open entrance doors and windows when possible

HOTEL GUESTS

• We will now offer online check-in and check-out, to keep contact with our team to a minimum

• We will provide complimentary amenity packs in all bedrooms containing face masks, sanitiser wipes and gel for your comfort and safety

• All non-essential items, including extra pillows, rugs, blankets and mini bar items have been removed from the rooms to minimise risk

• Full use of the terraces and/or dining areas will be available for food or for relaxing – Social distancing guidelines must still be respected

• Flexible cancellation policy (Cancel up to 24 hours before your arrival at no fee – a 50% cancellation fee will apply if cancelled within 24 hours of your arrival)

• One-time use menus will be provided. These can also be accessed via a QR code

• Guest room compendiums have been removed. They will be emailed to the guest on check-in

EMPLOYEE SAFETY

• Daily safety briefings will take place with all team members on each shift

• All team members will be wearing face coverings during their shift

• COVID-19 training for all team members and refresher training will take place regularly to discuss all essential hygiene and safety measures

• Team members’ temperature will be checked upon their arrival for each shift
