Night Porter

We are looking to recruit a Night Porter on a flexible contract covering approximately 3 nights 30-hour week at £14 per hour (plus share of customers gratuities). We are looking for a hardworking proactive individual with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, who can work as part of a team or alone. Typical shift will be between 9pm to 7am – 3 days a week, including weekends and bank holidays.

MAIN DUTIES
Guest Management:
- Ensure guests are greeted in a professional, friendly and courteous manner
- Ensure guests receive arrival information, receive a full check-in service and information about their stay and the hotel room and facilities
- Ensure you have knowledge of the day’s operations, room reservations, arrivals, departures, restaurant availability, and daily events to provide information to the guests
- Have knowledge of the hotel, amenities, features and all services offered by the hotel
- Produce bills and take payments efficiently
- Work with other departments in a suitable, helpful and courteous manner to ensure a high-quality guest experience
- Provide service in the bar after the late shift team members have finished their shift
Telephone and Email Service:
- Answer all phone calls within three rings and in a friendly, courteous manner
- Resolve the customer query as appropriate
- Provide advice and bookings over the telephone
- Respond to internal emails within 24 hours. Redirect emails to the appropriate department or resolve a guest query as appropriate.
Security:
- Perform night audit duties
- Tour the venue on a regular basis and report all irregularities to the relevant department
- Perform any related security duties as required overnight, making sure the venue is secure
- Record any unusual occurrences or problems and take appropriate action
- In conjunction with the housekeeper, clean public areas with cleaning additional to the standard cleaning rota as necessary
Hygiene:
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety, and Fire Safety requirements during shift
