"What a fantastic evening, arriving in the dark to the hotel lit beautifully and a lovely reindeer display to boot was quite enchanting. The bar and dining areas are well laid out, cosy but spacious, creating a lovely atmosphere - with all facilities matching that standard. The service was immaculate from start to finish, with just enough chat and timely interventions throughout. Finally, the food and experience of the Japanese Omakase Bar was exceptional - as good as any Michelin starred establishment. The Chef (and host) was superb, it's quite a talent to talk to strangers all night but also allow them to talk to each other alone. All 16 courses were superb and when you aren't quite sure what you'll be getting that is remarkable. A great mix of different fish, veg and thankfully waygu cooked or prepared beautifully, with some very interesting and always tasty twists. The Omakase Bar isn't the cheapest meal but it is absolute value for money and we will most certainly be returning for the next special occasion. A few long dog walks have seen me repeatedly find my way to the the Hurley House Hotel for lunches and drinks, and it’s a habit that seems to be growing. From the front of house girls through to the table service there’s nothing to fault. That I look forward to arriving and saying hello to all the staff and find myself staying far longer than I should is testament to the amazing culture and wonderful people that work here. Then there’s the food, which is to die for. Lunches seem to go from snack to feast with welcome regularity. Married with the guidance of a sommelier who clearly loves her job and there’s not much more one could wish for…until you realise the dog and children have been just as spoilt as you.
Having dined around the World with work, it’s not often I go to places these days with a wow factor, but Hurley House does, and does so on every visit. That it’s so local is the icing on the cake. Well run, managed, clean, friendly, vibrant with great food and superb service…but the staff make this place very special and make it my hidden gem. Highly recommended." December 2021

We requested an early check-in which was confirmed instantly and upon arrival we came into our room with a congratulatory message with chocolates as well as rose petals and towel swans on the bed - a lovely gesture. The food was amazing, the first night we ordered a takeaway from their takeaway service which was delivered to us as room service and the second night we dined in the lovely restaurant! The portions were generous in size. As a side note, the maid service was fantastic and the room was returned to pristine condition whilst we ate dinner.
