We are looking to recruit an experienced Head Chef on contract work for up to six weeks, from the beginning of February 2022 to cover paternity leave.

We offer very competitive contract rate, based on a 48-hour, 5 days/week shift system, including weekends and bank holidays.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide cover for the Head Chef on Paternity Leave
  • Ensure all recipes and preparation requirements are met
  • Respond in a proactive manner to the Managerial requests to undertake specific food preparation
  • Prepare food at an efficient pace
  • Ensure temperature, seasoning and flavours are to specifications
  • Ensure readiness for service and the pace is appropriate for peak trade
  • Ensure that the storage of food meets company and statutory Health and Safety requirements
  • Take reasonable care to reduce food wastage


  • Order as necessary for the kitchen to be appropriately stocked
  • Contribute to rota planning and training


  • Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Allergen and COSHH requirements for the kitchen
  • Complete HACCP recording in line with requests from the lead Chef on the shift and/or the Head Chef
