Senior Sous Chef

Due to our growing business, we are now looking to recruit a full-time Senior Sous Chef with proven fine-dining experience.

As Senior Sous Chef, you will be working alongside our Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking.

We are offering a basic salary up to £30,000 plus a share of service charge (tronc) for a 5 days/week shift system including split shifts, weekends and bank holidays. We have a great working environment and offer complimentary meals for staff on duty.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Leadership
Ensure all food preparation is to the specification outlined by the Head Chef and/or the Lead Chef on the shift
Deputise for the Head Chef in his/her absence
Ensure all recipes and preparation requirements are met
Ensure any problems or uncertainties in the handling or preparation of food are escalated to the Head Chef
Take reasonable care to reduce food wastage

Planning
Complete orders as necessary to ensure the kitchen is appropriately stocked
Generate menu ideas for discussion with the Head Chef within the dish development system
Contribute, as requested by the Head Chef, to rota planning and training

Hygiene
Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and HACCP regulations and allergen requirements.
